1. I SING OFF KEY
As far back as my memory goes
I have always lived with an impossible force
That derails everything I try
And will continue til the day I die!

But I’ve always heard “don’t even try it
If anything you’d better go hide it”
But I knew what I was meant to do
No matter the ridicule!

I sing off key, I sing off key I sing off key
That’s what the pianist said to me
I sing off key, I sing off key, I sing off key
That’s what the pianist said to me
I felt it was time to make my move
With a song, amazing and brand new
But lord I sang so flat!
The owner said “don’t ever ever come back!”
So I left broken and in despair
About life I couldn’t even care
Everything became disjointed
I was lost, sad and disappointed!
Then someone said if you don’t want to go wrong
Go and write your own theme song
About the one thing that you know
You’re off key, but that can’t stop the show!
I sing off key, I sing off key I sing off key
That’s what the pianist said to me
I sing off key, I sing off key, I sing off key
That’s what the pianist said to me
But who cares if it makes us happy!
Who cares if it makes us happy!!!

2. LOVE STORY
We do not have to touch
We’ll refrain from sin
Well maybe just a touch
A brush against your skin

Everything’s a breeze
With you how time flies
Just give me another moment to get lost in your eyes
Let’s go grab a bite
And share a bottle of wine
Then well say “goodnight, thank you for such a time”
Without much ado
Or too much compromise
Give me another moment to get lost in your eyes
Everything’s a breeze
With you how time flies
Could it be for once I found love in my life?
Let’s go grab a bite
And share a bottle of wine
Then well say “goodnight, thank you for such a time”
I may not be yours
And you may not be mine
But keeping it like this
Nothing is out of line
And we can meet another time

I’m so glad I found you
And you’re happy you’re with me
Deep inside we know, this is a love story

3. IF YOU WOULD ONLY LET ME MISS YOU
Today when I woke up
I thought are we immature
For always being together
As if we were insecure
But if we tried missing each other
A future might be assured
Just like anyone, sometimes
One wants to be alone
But by alone I mean alone
We need some time on our own,
It doesn’t mean that there’s any love lost
We just need some time alone
The way to someone’s heart
Can be to just to let them be
If not then you might blind them
To what they need to see!
I want to look forward
To seeing your sweet face
But if we’re always together
The mystery becomes erased
So please just let me miss you
And we’ll wind up in the right place
If you would only let me miss you
We might wind up in an embrace

4. THE SPRING OF MY 17TH YEAR
Golden and never-ending
Or could I have been pretending?
That it was more than it should’ve been
Are my eyes so tinted they can’t see within?
The world was a toy with no worries near
It was the spring of my seventeenth year
I remember always feeling fine
Cause I knew there was plenty of time
I was so reckless I gave no thought
How my actions might one day come back to haunt me

The world was a toy with no worries near
It was the spring of my seventeenth year
It was the spring of my seventeenth year!
This age is we immortalize
From way back to before our eyes
But is it what we make it to be?
As years roll by truth fades you see
But there’s one thing I know for sure
Back then our judgment was impure
If I knew then what I know now
I would be content and proud

Myths and memories becoming persistent
As actual events grow ever more distant
The world was a toy with no worries near
It was the spring of my seventeenth year
It was the spring of my seventeenth year
It was the spring of my seventeenth year!
One day I lied about my age
And Lord what I did to get paid!
I was so young resources were few
I needed some help what else could I do?
Didn’t I think one day I’d regret
I guess that I thought that I’d simply forget
But no I did not those memories are near
Of that gilded age, my seventeenth year!
The world was a toy with no worries near
It was the spring of my seventeenth year
The world was a toy with no worries near
It was the spring of my seventeenth year
It was the spring of my seventeenth year
It was the spring of my seventeenth year
It was the spring of my seventeenth year
The spring of my seventeenth year!
The spring of my seventeenth year!

5. ON AN APRIL NIGHT
On an April night
You appeared framed under pretty lights
I was high and I felt like I might die
Then for just one night
I got to rediscover a friend
Knowing it’d never ever happen again
And life can be so cruel
For what comes off as sweet
Can make someone so weak
That they’re knocked over by a breeze
And one becomes a fool, a fool, a fool
And life can be so cruel
On an April night
I was standing under beaming lights
And oh I saw the most beautiful sight
On an April night
I got to rediscover a friend
Never thinking it would lead to an end

And life can be so cruel
For what comes off as sweet
Can make someone so weak
That they’re knocked over by a breeze
And I swore I’d never lose you again
But now it’s May and we’re not even friends
And I am left to dream, to dream…
Oh… Oh…

5. PARIS YOU PUT A SONG IN MY HEART
Paris you put a song in my heart
Paris you put a song in my heart
I first heard the beat one night in the street
Paris you put a song in my heart
In the morning when I open my eyes
I’m fine with eternal grey skies
I’m fine with your skies cause I realize
You put a song in my heart
This song came to me one night
As I walked through the city of light
It was stuck in my head, so stuck in my head
You put a song in my heart
Whose sweet melody
Was just like a seed
That turned into a tree
Oh that melody!
This sweet melody
As eternal as can be
Plays seductively
This eternal melody
Came to seduce me
Oh that melody!
Oh this song did strike me
As full of life and tragedy
With beautiful words unlike any I’d heard
There is a song in my heart
This sweet melody
As eternal as can be
Plays seductively
Oh that melody
Came to seduce me
Oh that melody!
No I don’t want to leave
Here I can live and breathe!
Why should I leave where I live and breathe?
And have a song in my heart?
There is a song in my heart!
You put a song in my heart!

7. EMPTY GALLERY
As we walk through this gallery
Different things are going to catch our eyes
Though we’ve not yet been to see tonight’s show
Nothing registers any surprise
We move on to a coffee cup
Or just as well a glass of wine
It doesn’t matter one way or another
It’s only just to pass the time
But are we running through fields
With the sun shining on our faces?
What happened to all our grand ambitions?
Did they wind up in distant places?
I ask you how you think you feel
As we move on to another gallery
The paintings in here make you feel unreal
But at least you know you aren’t unhappy
But are you running through fields
With the sun shining on your face
Like the happy people in the paintings
In some far-off distant place?
I look down the hall and see
An abandoned empty gallery
So alone it only lives off painted dreams
Each and every one unfulfilled
Even though therein there lay an honest will
But you simply can not force change on destiny
So go, live out your dreams and be happy

8. MY FAMILY AND MY FRIENDS
I remember when love always seemed to last
I’d fall out and in, and always a spell was cast
Remember how I smiled
Remember how I laughed
I never ever thought
Those days would all be past
As the years flew by things got out of my control
I don’t know my reflection, is this called growing old?
Remember how I smiled
Remember how I laughed
I never ever thought
Those days would all be past
And then one day came not so long ago
When I looked outside and all I saw were clouds
And the love songs that I heard all seemed much too loud
Too loud, too loud!

Back then when I was young I didn’t know I’d lose control
But it can stop it now, and so happy I’ll grow old
And once again I’ll smile
And I’ll laugh until the end
For I will learn to be content
With just my family and my friends!

9. MAYBE WE CAN WRITE A SONG
Lyrics by Lesley Shannon
There have been times in my life when I was so tired
And the roads I traveled all seemed so long
And I tried to keep up with all of the hours in the day
But all that extra time just got in the way
There are times in my life when things can be so wicked
And I’d just as soon buy myself some crazy ticket
Wind up and lie on a beach on an island somewhere alone
Or I could sit by my piano right here at home
And you can sit here with me and maybe we can write a song
How the road that we traveled really wasn’t all that long
And the hours we worked might have been worth it in the bitter end
For here I am with my brilliant new friend!
So sit here with me and maybe we can write a song
How the road that we traveled really wasn’t all that long
And the hours we worked might have been worth it in the bitter end
For here I am with my brilliant new friend!

10. SECOND HAND SMOKE
I miss your second hand smoke
I never thought I’d say
That I’d miss that day
You would blow smoke down my way
I remember smoke filled nights
Cabarets and soft red lights
I don’t mind smoke in my eyes
It brings me back to magic times in life!
When second hand smoke is in my eyes
My heart beats fast and I feel alive
It’s like when I had you by my side
That was such a happy time in life
I remember smoke filled nights
Cabarets and soft red lights
I don’t mind smoke in my eyes
It brings me back, it brings me back,
It brings me back to magic times in life!

If there was second hand smoke
I’m sure it would make my lungs black
But it would mean another thing
That you are here, that you’ve come back!

11. LOVE IN WINTER
Fall comes and blankets the world in dying leaves
Followed by winter’s symphony
Night comes like a thief and steals away the day
Til June is an eternity away

When day spread to night we were in a different place
The sky at night showed a different face
Look up to heaven see what’s written in the stars
The winter sky says summer is still too far
But there’s always next year when we might have a rebound
We’ll know it if the spring comes back around
Though first let’s make it past this time so barren, cold and raw
With no guarantee our hearts might thaw
Things are never simple there always is a twist
It’s life’s little ironic kiss
Though we must take good care of what we promise to our heart
For next year we just might have grown apart
Yes there’s always next year when we might have a rebound
We’ll know it if the spring comes back around
But first let’s make it past this time so barren, cold and raw
And who knows if in May our hearts might thaw
In some way far off sea
Waves will crash for you and me
A symphony with music all around
And if they don’t I swear it’s true
I’ll only wish the best for you
I want you to always be safe and sound!
And so in this dark time summer’s eternally away
Until next year I’m left to count the days

12. IN LOVE AND 25
From time to time I look back on life
As times hurries by I was once alive
I was once twenty-five
And ahead in beaming lights stood nothing but life
But time can fill one full of regret
Until we simply simply forget
What it’s like to be in love
To be young and alive
To be twenty-five, in control of your life

Oh the future was gold!
We were twenty-five
Twenty-five and in love
Twenty-five and in love
And when I look back at twenty-five
In my prime but trying to just stay alive
And I recall from afar
That whole golden year
I nursed a broken heart
And drowned in wasted tears

I should have been alive!
I was just twenty-five!

At twenty-five, it’s such a golden age
Setting the stage for a one-act play
That repeats time and again
For the rest of our lives
That’s what it was like
Being in love and twenty five

Oh the future was gold!
We were twenty-five
Twenty-five and in love
Twenty-five and in love

13. TRUE LOVE NEVER DIES
Somebody did tell me that true love never dies
Somebody did tell me it’s as old as the sky
Somebody did say in a truthful honest way
Somebody did tell me that true love never dies
Many moons ago life was full of hope
I believed in Jesus I believed in the Pope
But all my jaded friends said buddy that must end
Because if not you’ll be left with a narrow scope

So then I rubbed my head in what did I believe?
All the truths were lies there’s no Adam and Eve
But a message from above said believe that there is love
At least knowing that you can feel some alieve
Somebody did tell me that true love never dies
Somebody did tell me it’s as old as the sky
Somebody did say in a matter of fact way
Somebody did tell me that true love never dies!
The day I know for sure that my spirit’s died
Is when I am convinced there’s nothing in the sky
Until that dreaded day I’ll continue on this way
And hope that when the time comes our souls will fly!
Somebody did tell me that true love never dies
Somebody did tell me it’s as old as the sky
So every time you give up and you feel like you’ve been tried
Remember somehow somewhere true love never dies
Somebody did tell me that true love never dies
Somebody did tell me it’s as old as the sky
Somebody did say, in a truthful honest way
Somebody did tell me that true love never dies

True love never dies
True love never dies
True love never dies

Somebody did say that true love never dies!

14. INTERCEDE
A million prayers for Mother
Who’ll leave us all in need
I pray you’ll intercede
I pray you’ll intercede
Smile upon my Father
As his poor heart bleeds
I pray you’ll intercede
I pray you’ll intercede
Oh brother please be strong
So I can follow your lead
I pray you’ll intercede
I pray you’ll intercede
St. Teresa we all need
For you to intercede
A million prayers for Mother
Who’ll leave us all in need
I pray you’ll intercede
I pray you’ll intercede

15. LOVE EXISTS
I was cheated and bitter alone in a bar
Til I spotted you there like a film from afar
In five minutes we kissed and our passion was true
But the next day you left for London at two

I would never see your face again in my life
And although a few times we both tried to write
But you lived with your boyfriend and I’m in L.A.
And the letters soon stopped and the years ran away

Then I searched and I searched everywhere for your name
But I only found someone whose name was the same
I did learn something from the time that we kissed
I’ll always be happy knowing…

Love exists, love exists, love exists

If it happened once it can happen again
I have waited and waited I’ll wait til the end
Should I go to the bar where I once saw your face
And stand there again in that same musty place

I imagine your face in the bar from afar
And I walk up to you and we don’t even talk
No words should be said, all we’ll do is kiss
And I’ll always be happy knowing

Love exists, love exists, love exists!
Love exists, love exists, love exists!
Love exists!

16. LOVESICK
I wonder if you’ll ever hear
If this song will reach your ears
Will you even know it’s me
Or will you turn the radio off, and turn on the TV
Is there some show that you will watch?
With your man and you all wrapped up in his arms
Some old rerun on TV
Do you ever think of me?

Oooh, I’m in love with you

I wonder if you’ll ever hear
If this song will reach your ears
Or is his pull all that more strong?
Than some lovesick fool who wrote you a silly song
I’m in love with you
I’m in love with you

A song that you might never hear
Will it ever reach your ears?
I’m still amazed at how these years
Still have such a hold of me
I hold on to those memories very dearly
And I could try and write you some sort of symphony
But I know that deep inside you’d rather just sit and watch that TV
And if that’s all that you want and expect from life
Then why is it so hard for me to just get up and say goodbye?
I’m in love with you
I wonder if you’ll ever hear
If this song will reach your ears
Or is his pull all that more strong?
Than some lovesick fool who wrote you a silly song
I’m in love with you
